aruss Posted November 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2013 I posted this in the money saving advice and tips board but since it's a Royal Caribbean trip I thought I'd post here too: I have a cruise booked for this spring (2014) booked directly through the cruise line. I understand I can transfer that booking to a TA to get some perks that they offer (i.e. prepaid gratuities, OBC, etc.). So I've been shopping trying to find who has the best perks to transfer to. With the US Thanksgiving holiday approaching I was wondering if any online TA would offer extra perks or better deals on or around " Black Friday"? Have you ever noticed this in the past? I can't answer your question about black Friday TA sales, but when did you book your spring cruise. Bookings can only be transferred to a TA until 60 days from creation. emeraldcity Posted November 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2013 For what it's worth, I once booked a cruise on "Black Friday". It was a bit over $100 more per person than it would have been if I had booked it during the sales event that was apparently going on Monday-Tuesday of that same week. aruss Posted November 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 16, 2013 I booked about 10 days ago and have until the end of December before final payment is due.
spookwife Posted November 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2013 this came up last year and the general consensus was there is no such thing as Black Friday in the cruise industry.

A couple of years ago one of the on line TA gave an extra 75.00 OBC if you booked on that weekend.
