lion1956 Posted November 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2013 We sail on the Reflection in December and staying in Aqua Class so dining in Blu, after we upgrade to premium drink package and pre-pay gratuities we still have a couple hundred in onboard credits. What should we spend it on, since we are eating in Blu not sure if the specialty restaurants are worth it. Also we stop in St. Thomas, St. Martin and San Juan, are any of the tours worth it? I realize we could book spa treatments but I am looking for best value for the money, and I also realize this is very subjective according to everyone's likes, but what was your experiences? Thank you, looking for a lot of suggestions

Hard to answer your question since we don't know your likes, dislikes. http://www.bossusvi.com/default.aspx?name=FAQ Edited November 18, 2013 by dkjretired
miched Posted November 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Keep watching the boards to see if upgrading to the premium on board cost the extra $5 over the regular $10/pp/day. It may be something that you want to consider to save the extra money. You can use the money to purchase duty free liquor on board. Buy it the first day and they also usually have a raffle for those that made purchases the first day for $50 or $100. .🎅🎄

carolslc Posted November 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2013 We have the same situation. It really depends on what you like. We plan to spend it on an excursion from St. Thomas. We'll book as soon as we get on board - I'm hoping our top choice will still be available but there are multiple options we'd be happy with. All other days we are doing our own thing or going with a private tour company. I'm not sure that any ship's tour is the best value, but for us, it seemed to be the best use of the free money. But other options I considered were buying photos or possibly items in the gift shops. It's a great problem to have! :)

No you cannot. They will deliver it to your cabin the last night of the cruise.
lion1956 Posted November 18, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Ok thanks, which they would let us drink in the cabin, I was going to use the credit to order a bar set up in our room but one bottle is $87 for each bottle!!

pnsnkr Posted November 18, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 18, 2013 depending on the type of OBC, you don't have to spend it all. You could get the remaining amount reimbursed to your card on file. warmwinds Posted November 18, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 18, 2013 "extra tip"..."sorry for what I am paying not a good idea" Confused...so if you get fabulous service you are not planning on tipping extra because you chose an expensive cabin? bigbenboys Posted November 18, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 18, 2013 You dont have to prepay your tips when dining in Blu. If your booking yourself you just pick early or later dining. As you know you can dine when you want in Blu. That way you can uses your onboard credits for tiping. You only must pre pay for Select Dining. I call my TA and had ours changed on our last cruise. h20cruzer Posted November 18, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Depending on what type of OBC you can take a cash advance in the casino with a 4% surcharge. Some OBC's dont let you do that, but would be nice to keep the cash if you have the right kind of OBC. Norma
middlehaitch Posted November 18, 2013 #16 Share Posted November 18, 2013 If you really can't think of what to spend your OBC on, and extra tipping isn't your thing, see if you can donate it to charity. If there is no way of doing this surely Celebrity should set up a charity donation dept because a lot of unused OBC must go into Celebrity's coffers every year. Just my thoughts. Cheers, h. hughdm Posted November 19, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 19, 2013 On occasion we have eaten up OBC for a new bauble for the DW. Not the best prices, but she loves it, so worth it!

ariawoman Posted November 19, 2013 #19 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Excursion....bingo...a sweatshirt...the possibilities are endless. I certainly would have no issue spending it LOL. Bought an ipad mini on the summit with OBC (i had pre-bought some to buy it since it too was duty free...)
dorisis Posted November 19, 2013 #20 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Casino, drinks, speciality restaurants, excursions, photos, gratuitues, spa and botiques (including liquor and sundries). I have never found it hard to use up OBCs. My favorite is in the fine jewelry shops. Even tho they are overpriced they won't cost you anything if you use the OBC. fredflint Posted November 20, 2013 #21 Share Posted November 20, 2013 if your tips are prepaid you can use it for specialty dining wait a couple of days and see what offers come up. First night is pretty much always 1/2 off, we received a call for 5 nights and 2 at Bistro on 5 and 2 at Lawn club grill for 75.00PP.
