What does the stateroom provide. Bar soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner??? Just wondering if I have to take my own....3 weeks and counting!!!

They provide all of those, though they are different than on other Princess ships. There are pump dispensers attached to the wall of the shower for body wash and shampoo. In addition, there are little containers of lotion and conditioner (and one other thing that I can't recall) on the bathroom counter (these are different from the little bottles they've had in the past). And, yes, they provide bar soap.

There is a combo shampoo/conditioner. Make sure you at least bring your own conditioner.

Bar soap is also half the size it used to be.

The new size sounds like it was about the size in the past when the cabin steward would replace it.

 

Have the smaller soap size and reduced elite supplies spread to the other Princess ships?

Don't know yet. Just got off Royal 10/27 and won't be on another ship until 12/14.

Just off of the Sapphire last week. They installed the dispensers halfway into the trip with empty bottles. Then a few days later they removed the bottles and left the holder. Never did return the bottles before we departed.

Here's a photo of the 2 oz tubes of conditioning shampoo, body wash, lotion & bar of soap which was the same size as on other ships. Our cabin stewardess said the tubes were for elites as a replacement for the previous setup (lip balm, etc) and also for suites. I have no way to know if that's accurate or not & just what she told us.

Off the Royal a few weeks back and all we had to do was ask our room steward for lip balm, nail file or whatever else we wanted. Never had a problem getting them:)

Our Royal stewardess said that wasn't possible so obviously she was misinformed. :(

We didn't receive those items (Chapstick, nail file, etc) automatically. I asked and received them, but the cabin steward acted surprised that I knew about them. He said slippers had been discontinued, but I got them on the cruise that I took two weeks prior to the Royal Princess cruise. I got the feeling that he was being a little less than honest with me.

I'm thinking that if they still have inventory they will hand them out if requested but once they are gone they are gone. Probably just a cut back. Maybe only to suite guests. I have not seen slippers in years. But then again they would be too small and a waste.

The only thing I asked for was Qtips and he said they were locked up and he didn't have access. No biggie. Our steward was great in many ways, so I am not going to doubt his response.
