gsjnd Posted November 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2013 In Antigua next week and can't decide which beach to go to for the day. Have narrowed it down to Valley church beach, Darkwood beach or Hawksbill. Hawksbill seems harder to access? Any advice and does anyone know the cost of a taxi to any of them. vbscoot Posted December 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Jolly Harbor beach is wonderful. If you wanna go cheap, you can probably catch a bus to any of them. See..."""Our day at (Free) Jolly Harbor beach " thread on this board. That's what we did last month

Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted December 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) We had a nice beach day at Valley Church Beach. We took a taxi with 4 other people. [$32 for 1-3 or $8 pp] There is only one restaurant there, The Nest. It sells food/drinks and has restrooms. It was easy to get a taxi back. We found another couple going back and shared the ride. They rent chairs [$5pp] and umbrellas [$10] We rented two chairs and sat under a very shady tree. Valley Church beach is not good for snorkeling. The water is not clear enough. It has a milky look--but, the sand is soft. Had a very good day for a good price. Edited December 10, 2013 by DragonOfTheSeas
Rare teacherman Posted December 13, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2013 We went to Darkwood once, and have been to VCB 3 times. We will be going back to VCB on January.
gsjnd Posted December 24, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted December 24, 2013 We visited valley church beach last week on a P&O cruise and DragonsOfTheSeas comments were spot on. It was the best beach we visited out of any islands we visited but the water was to salty to snorkle
