GingerCandy Posted December 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Since the Ocean Princess is a much smaller ship, is there an theater for evening performances. If not, what entertainment is available other than casino and bars? Thanks.
beg3yrs Posted December 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) The Cabaret Lounge serves as the theater. Movies and the Production Shows occur there. http://www.princess.com/learn/ships/op/amenities_publicrooms/entertainment/ Edited December 1, 2013 by beg3yrs

You will still see production shows, comedians, magicians, etc. The casino is tiny, but will still take your money. ;)

Same amenities/products but not as much due to far fewer passengers/customers. One great thing about the entertainers on the small ships is that they are far move visible and help out the CD's staff with activities and tours so you will meet and get to know them. paul929207 Posted December 1, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We love the Ocean Princess. We seem to spend 30 to 50 days on her each year. There are shows just about every night. The only exception I can think of is when we are overnighting in port. For instance, we had two days in Dubai in October and there was no show the night we were there. geocruiser Posted December 2, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2013 We were on Tahitian Princess. I believe the name has been changed to Ocean Princess now. The ship is great. I would sail on her in a heart beat.
Mommypig Posted December 2, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2013 The small ships have a very different feel that the larger ships. The shows are smaller, but more close up. It's more like a floor show at a club than an auditorium. Some nights it's a comedian or other entertainer. We did 10 days in South Pacific on Ocean Princess last year, and are planning a 51 day plus 12 day next year on Pacific Princess Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

flamomo Posted December 2, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 2, 2013 One important thing to know about the shows and entertainment in the Cabaret showroom .... if you want a seat with a decent view, get there early. It's not tiered, like the theater is. The sightlines are not very good, because there is only very slight incline to the floor, upward from the level where the performers are. If there are tall people in front of you it can be a problem trying to see the action. I was on the Ocean's sister ship, the Pacific, about 6 weeks ago, and encountered this. GingerCandy Posted December 2, 2013 Author #12 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Thank you all for the helpful responses. I have one more question(s): I know the Ocean Princess does not have an International Café. If coffee cards are sold on the O. P., what venues serve the specialty coffees? Any fresh cookies in the afternoon? ;)

Any fresh cookies in the afternoon? ;) Specialty coffees at Club Bar on deck 5 and the bar at the buffet entrance on deck 9. Usually there is a no charge ice cream hour in the afternoon at the buffet. Make your own sundae with ship-made real ice cream. Also have fresh cookies available then.
