Thoughts on this cruise? I have been to Nassau but not Castaway... Also wondering if there will be a lot of children since it is disney or if its an even amount of young and old. Me and my girlfriend are 22 and 21. Just looking for a weekend away from everything to relax. How is the ship since its recently been updated? Anything else please feel free to express

I think you'll find plenty to do. After our recent four day cruise on the Magic, I felt like we did all we could with our daughter. What I felt like we could have used more of, was adult time in the adult parts of the ship. There's plenty of places to relax and enjoy without being bothered by kids.

On a 3 night cruise you will find lots of kids but there is plenty to do where you can get away from the kids. There is a portion of Castaway Cay (Serenity Bay) that is adults only. YouTube has a number of videos about the "Reimagined" Magic.

Keep in mind that it will possibly be too chilly to really enjoy Castaway.

Autocorrect responsible for most typos...

Knock on wood...we sail the 3rd week of January every year and have never had a day where it was too chilly enjoy any port that we've stopped at.

Mind you we're from Canada so anything above -30 that time of year is great!

2 words--Serenity Bay. Adult only beach and food outlet, and they DO enforce it. If anyone under 18 shows up, feel free to alert the nearest CM. THey will be asked to leave.

Serenity Bay is the adult only portion of Castaway Cay (swimwear is NOT optional...adult only in DCL speak means "no kids.")

Serenity Bay is perfect for the two of you. Adult only (over age 18) beautiful beach, bar, picnic area for lunch. Grilled fish and steaks etc. for lunch. the larger family beach will be jammed with families and loads of kids. They also have a separate eating area, a bone 'dig

for the smaller kids and many other distractions. Actually, you would probably enjoy both so why not split your time? Plus they have two neat water slides. I am 74 and my daughter is 49 and we both love the slides.

In the winter, there is a possibility that if the water is too rough, you won't be able to dock at Castaway Cay. Just FYI.

However, it is one of the best ports we have been too. SO much for fun is included! We went in April this year and the water was chilly so it was ONE TWO THREE GO! But we did it. We are going early May this year. The earliest I cruise is the last week of Feb/Mar but I'm really looking forward to May. I don't every cruise in Hurricane season. Ever. Spring is perfect for us!
