Noise two floors above disco?

Recommended Posts

Should we expect to hear music from the disco if we are two floors above it? We are on the Splendor if it makes any difference. There is a sizable price increase to move up a category/floor, but figure it might be worth it if we should expect to hear music or have the room shaking all night.

As long as there are cabins above and below you will be fine......no worries about something two floors away

happy sailing!!!

you should be fine 2 floors above.

One time we were one floor above. The floor shook every night until 1 am. I did make a call to the purser desk every night, (nicely) my complaint was logged so Carnival could see it when we got home. One night I asked the purser to come to the room. He came in, looked around, and said "your floor is vibrating". On board they gave us 100 obc each. When we got home, I called Carnival, nicely, and they saw the complaint log and gave us a check for 200$. Also 25% off our next cruise. Total compensation was about 800$.

Lessons learned, book two floors above a lounge, unless you are a night person, :D Also, if you are nice and complain in a nice respectful way, things can get done. Overall, we were satisfied with the outcome, but I will be very careful in my room selection in the future.

Lesson learned for Carnival, we were on the same ship two years later, that lounge was no longer a music lounge, but was purposed for soomething else.

There is enough air space so you will not hear the music. Good for you for checking what is above & below your cabin.

We had a room 2 floors above the disco on the Splendor, and there was never any noise heard in our room from the music. Our kids were directly below us and did say that they could hear the disco.
