nettyh Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I want to book the alcoves for a couple of sea days on our January cruise but when I log into my account and click The Alcoves it says I cant book them. Does anyone know if you can book when you board or will they all be taken by then? Thanks Janette
tfrcal Posted December 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I believe this means they are fully booked. We reserved ours about nine months ago. You can try onboard to see if there has been a cancellation or try calling the speciality dining reservations to see if there is anything open. I suspect there is nothing available. FRMPEI Posted December 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I believe this means they are fully booked. Why give bad advice when you don't know the answer? On Last year's sailing of Silhouette we had to phone Celebrity direct to book the Alcoves. Hope this helps? Regards, Kevin Reid

On Last year's sailing of Silhouette we had to phone Celebrity direct to book the Alcoves. Hope this helps? Regards, Kevin Reid It is not advice but a possible explanation of what the OP experienced on the website. Moreover, it was suggested they call, just as you did. At this late date, the likelihood of an availble alcove is not very high.
Redtravel Posted December 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2013 On my last Silhouette cruise, anytime we walked by the Alcoves, they were empty. In fact, a few times we were approached with offers of discounted stays. I do not think you will have a problem reserving an Alcove.

B2B last year on Silhouette and there would of been no problem booking Alcoves if we had of done so when boarding the ship for either week. long time lurker Posted December 9, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Janette We actually booked the alcoves for 2 sea days on our January 19 Silhouette cruise. I had to call Celebrity directly. It is done through the shore excursion desk. A very easy process. Hope this helps. I am not sure if we are on the same sailing but I hope you enjoy your trip
Gonzo70 Posted December 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 9, 2013 At this late date, the likelihood of an availble alcove is not very high. I do not believe that it is common for the Alcoves to sell out.
Gracie115 Posted December 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2013 On our Silhouette cruise the Alcoves were completely sold out on sea days...so, yes, I'd call now if you want one.
long time lurker Posted December 9, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I just read the other replies. I was mistaken it is the specialty dining desk that makes the reservations. Still very easy
youwash Posted December 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Just to confirm what others have said--you have to call Celebrity to reserve them. P.S. We loved them on sea days on Silhouette and have reserved one for the whole cruise on Reflection
Cruise a holic Posted December 9, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I want to book the alcoves for a couple of sea days on our January cruise but when I log into my account and click The Alcoves it says I cant book them. Does anyone know if you can book when you board or will they all be taken by then? Thanks Janette My DH and I booked the Alcoves for our Jan cruise many months ago- when they were offered. The ship has only 8 (or 10) and they book up very quickly. Sometimes people cancel when onboard so you might luck out!

K.T.B. Posted December 10, 2013 #14 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Just call. I used the number for reservations and pre-cruise questions. I got it booked for a port day with no problems. :) I was on the phone about 8 minutes.
