Richard in Panama Posted December 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2013 I'm pleased to see that Princess has just announced the 2012-2013 Winners of the Caribbean Panama Canal Shore Excursion Awards as determined by passenger feedback on tours, and the Authentic Embera Indian Village Tour was one of two winners for Panama. gulfwench Posted December 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2013 We did that excursion a few years ago and it was one of the best we have ever done!
sjmbruce Posted January 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2014 I recognize some faces in those pictures. Going to the village and meeting the people was an amazing experience. Glad to see the excursion received recognition.
got2gocruzn Posted January 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2014 From which port is this excursion offered?? Thx
BillB48 Posted January 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2014 This excursion is normally offered on any of the ports on a cruise to Panama. That would include Ft. Amador or Gatun Lake if you are on a Canal transit, or Colon if your ship is just stopping in Panama.
kathynorth Posted January 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2014 My cruise has a stop in Colon 9am-7pm. Is it possible to visit the Embera Indian Village from this stop or is it too far.
BillB48 Posted January 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Yes, that's plenty of time... if you go with a ship's tour, no problem. If you go independently arrange for the earliest possible time.
cookie49 Posted January 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2014 I took my 10 year old grandson on this tour last year while on a cruise. I have been on many cruises to many ports and I have to say this is the best tour I have ever experienced. My grandson loved it as well. He is an honor student and was just fascinated with the whole experience. I am going on this same cruise with Princess in two weeks and plan to take this tour again. The crafts are very reasonably priced as I have made baskets and know what work goes in to making one. Look at different vendors though as their skills vary greatly. For those with physical difficulties let me say I have knee replacements and had no trouble as these most gracious people are eager to offer help as needed. It is just like walking into the pages of a National Geographic and well worth the money in my opinion.
Jen1000 Posted January 7, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2014 I booked with My Friend Mario and it was an excellent tour. I was in port for the day on the Celebrity Equinox. http://www.myfriendmario.com/ My cruise has a stop in Colon 9am-7pm. Is it possible to visit the Embera Indian Village from this stop or is it too far.
