Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2013 Just wondering if the ships have all their Christmas glory on display yet? One year when on Diamond Princess they put them up during our cruise. I got the impression a team had flown out from the States just to put them all up, and then stay on to take them all down again. Now that would be a nice job.:D:D
Rare aussielozzie18 Posted December 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Yes, the Radiance has xmas decorations. They were up during the 5-day cruise to Newcastle & Brisbane in late Nov. Edited December 12, 2013 by aussielozzie18
Sandielle Posted December 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2013 They were put up on the Pacific Dawn the day we left for PNG - 16 November. It was lovely to experience a little of a Christmas Cruise. :)
kiwipete Posted December 12, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2013 The decorating team were boarding Sun Princess in Auckland last Sunday as we got off. They certainly do a great job. Will never forget the "real" snow on Diamond, with her snow making machines in the top of the Atrium!

Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 12, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted December 12, 2013 What cabin no. is that....awesome balcony! Looks like one of the aft corner ones. I believe they are very popular and from what I have read on the boards you have to book them as soon as the cruising schedule comes out. They have a huge wrap around balcony. Wonder if they catch the wind?
ozififer Posted December 12, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 12, 2013 The atrium on P&O's Pacific Pearl was all decked out with Christmas trees and garlands when we sailed on her back on 18th November. A lovely display.

Aussieflyer Posted December 13, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 13, 2013 We were on the 5 night Queensland cruise on Radiance in late November as well. We went to bed one night - no decorations - and got up the next morning to the Christmas tree, garlands and lights. Someone was obviously busy in the middle of the night! It looked lovely. Elves perhaps? The ships look great, I will do a cruise over Xmas one day (until obligations with the family are not required anymore) until then cruising just before will have to suffice.:D Edited December 13, 2013 by MicCanberra

Will try and post some shots Lucky you we couldn't make it into Dunedin earlier this month because of strong winds , missed out on our train ride. Our captain waited for nearly 2 hrs for the winds to drop but had to give up, another cruise ship couldn't make it in either . Big business lost that day for Dunedin. Just can't control the weather and our captain put our safety first. We were on Voyager.

Weather can play havoc with travel plans, we were stuck in Whittier once for 18 hours longer than we were supposed to be there. We ended up missing a port in Japan also due a super typhoon that would have trapped us there for several days.:D Edited December 16, 2013 by MicCanberra
macntosh Posted December 19, 2013 #22 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Hi All, As promised, here are a couple of pics from aboard Solstice today. The ship looks fantastic with all the decorations and trees. Plus there seem to be hundreds of pointsettia (spelling??) trees around the ship on every floor. Giant tree on level 10 of the library, plus level 3 on the grand staircase. Also we have the most amazing weather in the sounds yesterday. Just perfect and enjoying a relatively smooth Tasman crossing to arrive Hobart in the morning. Enjoy.
