BrooklinNorth Posted December 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2013 We are staying in Seward at the Holiday Inn Express before our July 4 cruise. I am looking at the Seavey's Real Alaska tour the day of the cruise, but it departs from the train station at 1130, can we check in by 11? Does anyone has experience with this? mapleleaves Posted December 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2013 If you can't check in i'm sure there's storage available at the pier. If not, you could always leave your luggage at the hotel desk and pick it up afterwards.

You should have no trouble checking in your luggage at the pier..most that have departed the ship are long gone by that time.....In addition some posters have found that some hotels in Seward will deliver your luggage directly to the ship for their hotel guests...double check with yours. I checked in at 11:30 am both times. You cannot go to your cabin until 1pm but you can check your luggage through and go to the windjammer for lunch! :)) Enjoy! Donut23 Posted December 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Holiday Inn Express will transfer your big pieces of luggage directly to the ship. Put your ship luggage tags on before you leave. The hotel will hold your carry on luggage till you are ready to head to the ship. You cannot checkin until the ship is ready to accept guests. subtchr Posted December 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2013 We were also happy to learn that Holiday Inn Express will deliver your bags directly to the ship for $2 per bag. We went on a Kenai Fjords cruise before boarding. We made sure your ship luggage tags were on our bags, and the next time we saw them was in our cabin. We even checked one that had 12 bottles of water and 2 bottles of wine, and it was delivered to our cabin no problem.
