michelle1836 Posted January 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Does Carnival sail to Bermuda anymore? I cant seem to find it on the website. If so, when and what ship?
PCHENG Posted January 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Carnival has pulled out of Bermuda for the time being, but there are plenty of sailings on RCCL, NCL and X.

RSLeesburg Posted January 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2014 thanks. should have caught it when I had the chance. They may be back. I thought I read that they pulled out because they were not allowed to keep their casinos open while in port. But recently, the Bermuda government voted to allow ships to open their casinos during part of their stay - after a certain time, or before a certain time. I cannot remember which. It would be nice to see that a Bermuda itinerary on Pride or Splendor when they return to Baltimore and NY in 2015 (assuming they come back). PS: We just went to Bermuda this past fall on Grandeur. Loved it.
bride123105 Posted January 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) The last Bermuda cruise Carnival did got down to ultra cheap due to lack of bookings, so I doubt they are that eager to go back. Another reason they said they pulled out was due to lack of dock space on any day but Sunday when most things are closed. RuthlessBoss Posted January 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2014 My understanding is Carnival didn't pull out, per se. They couldn't get in with any preset schedule because the berths were already taken by other lines. Bermuda doesn't want more ships there and in fact, people there aren't thrilled with so many tourists. Of course people dependant on tourism as their livelihood would like people to be there. Carnival_Brides Posted January 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2014 The only cruise to Bermuda on Carnival is a NKOTB charter in June. They cancelled the only summertime 5 day Canada cruise for it :-(.

Ah, that makes sense. When I was reading the threads about the changes in allowing cruise ships to operate their casinos, several posters mentioned that it might bring Carnival back, so I assumed that was reason they left. Not getting good days to visit would be more reasonable. Locals never want too many tourists, but depend upon them for their livelihood. It is a dual-edged sword...lol

vols_159 Posted January 6, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Other cruise lines beat carnival to contracts with Bermuda. Ncl sends 2 ships there weekly during the season Edited January 6, 2014 by vols_159
golfadj Posted January 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Did it on the Miracle just over two years ago and probably our best cruise. Will be going back but apparently with another cruise line
