stewpapa Posted January 18, 2014 #101 Share Posted January 18, 2014 No wont cancel going to alaska in may, but so mad with myself  A balcony on an Alaska cruise is priceless! Not just sunset and water.... Breathtaking views constantly.... Perhaps even whales! You will thank God you spent that $300 euro!
HoneyDad Posted January 18, 2014 #102 Share Posted January 18, 2014 We call the smoking part of the deck "cigarette city" and try to avoid it at all costs. The smell there is disgusting. That's because they force 18% of the cruisers into 1000 sq ft area to do something they enjoy.
HoneyDad Posted January 18, 2014 #103 Share Posted January 18, 2014 I can sympathize with your disappointment, but let me offer another perspective. Having a balcony affords you some lovely views, peaceful sunrises and sunsets, a quiet place to retreat in the afternoon and connect with the ocean! While I always enjoyed being able to have a cigarette and beverage on my balcony, it's just one of the many things I enjoy about having one, and I would still book them in a heartbeat even though you can no longer smoke on them. So, try and enjoy the other benefits of having a balcony, and resign yourself to the fact that your smoking has to be done elsewhere! Nice balanced post! And Hey we are cruising together! :)

JF - retired RRT Posted January 18, 2014 #105 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Good post:) I tried to get your cigarette banner on this, but it wouldn't do it. Just wanted to say "WOW!!!". In 1 year & 2 months, you saved $13,284.48 and didn't smoke 22,141 cigarettes. That really puts it into perspective. Showed the banner to my DH and he said, "that is a lot of cruising". Congratulations!!
