Dare2Believe Posted January 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2014 We are two past guests sailing with two new cruisers...Can we bring them with us to the past guest party, or no? I assume it is invitation only and that they will be checking for past guest status...just wondering if we can "sneak" them in with us, or if we have to part ways and meet up afterwards. carrieluvsgreg Posted January 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2014 I think it'll be more difficult now than before as they have restricted it to gold, platinum and diamond members... It's not nearly as crowded as in the past, which is great, but without an invitation, might be harder to get in.

Can you do it, probably.... should you, in my opinion no.. this is a perk given to people who have cruised before with carnival..
funinthesun1964 Posted January 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2014 They collect your invites at the door and give you mardi gras beads. Just go to the party - it is only 45 minutes - and plan to meet up later.
Danacat222 Posted January 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2014 I am gold, my Mom is red, going on Victory next week, just the 2 of us for her 73rd b-day, can my Mom come with me to the party?

My husband was red, and I was gold on our last cruise and they let him come with me. From what I gathered, if it was a family member or someone in the same cabin as you, they could come. (He turns gold on our next cruise, so yay!)

Zeta3 Posted January 12, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Everybody in our cabin had a ticket with our names on them which were collected at the door. You can probably bring somebody but it will probably be awkward for all those involved.
2 cruzen Posted January 12, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2014 The 2nd time our adult kids cruised with us we were excited to take them to the past guest party, but then VIFP was in place and they were only red, while we were gold. We didn't even try to sneak them in. However, since the bartender had given us double drinks, we took them back for DD. :D
nitro2448 Posted January 12, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Yes you can do it, they don't pay that much attention to those tickets, they just take them from you and put them in a stack in their hand and welcome back.
Tyme2Cruise Posted January 12, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Like chair hogs, chair savers, and smugglers, all VIFP Red passengers, attending this elite function, should have to walk the plank into shark infested waters. Just kidding, the waters don't have to be shark infested. :D

Part ways and meet up later. Why do people ask here if they can get away with doing something they know is wrong? Does anyone think we here at CC have any control over whether a cruiser can get one over on Carnival (or any other line)?

goofytoo Posted January 12, 2014 #18 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Sometimes they let people in without invitations if they just show their sign and sail card. They don't look at names or sign and sail cards if you have an invitation. That is all I am saying.:D
christmas Posted January 13, 2014 #19 Share Posted January 13, 2014 You probably could sneak them in. But should you? No. The party is for Gold, Platinum and Diamond only.
Colorado Kat Posted January 13, 2014 #20 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Just went the other day. I swear I heard someone at Guest Services telling a passenger she could bring a guest. I travel with my 22 year old daughters. They don't care to go, so I grab their invites to hand to anyone who might need one.
IResQU Posted January 13, 2014 #21 Share Posted January 13, 2014 My Next Cruise is 8 Days! Woohoo!!! Just made it Phew! That was close. Not that it would have made a huge difference to my vacation, but it is nice to receive some kind of perk, even if it is watered down drinks, and a sparkly card. junglecat Posted January 13, 2014 #22 Share Posted January 13, 2014 So not EVERYONE who's sailed before gets to go? Last sailing was March of 2011 and we all got to go. Looking forward to this next week. :(
Waterloomarc Posted January 13, 2014 #23 Share Posted January 13, 2014 No they changed it a while back. Now you have to be Gold and up to go. It's actually much better now though, it had gotten so crowded before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
