Cruzin momma of 6 Posted January 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2014 We will be going to grand Cayman in Feb. We are want ion to do a stingray/turtle farm excursion however I'm a little worried. I'm over weight and have asthma. I am worried that this will interfere with doing this.. Anyone with these problems went on this excursion before?
CatlinSTJ Posted January 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2014 You should be okay, depending on what your asthma triggers are. I have done the stingrays before and were actually on the excursion with several plus size ladies (and I'm not little by any means!) that were on a Richard Simmons "Cruise to Lose" and all were fine and had a great time. We've been looking at the turtle farm for this time and everything I am reading indicates that it is also very low key and easy to get around. Hope that helps! Capt_BJ Posted January 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2014 I'm over weight and have asthma ask your doctor .... if the doctor says OK, you should be fine . . . we can't really judge what is and isn't within your activity level. most of the stingray stops are 'stand in waist deep water' and don't require any snorkeling. And most boats have easy access ladders. In your case a larger boat might be better as the larger the boat the larger and easier to climb the ladder USUALLY . . .
