gr8tfulscott Posted January 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2014 my thoughts 1 2 3 getting on the ship at 3pm no lines right on the ship we went. getting off the ship 1 2 3 luggage in right area by number and through customs, taxi's waiting and to the airport in 20 min ($23 2 people 2 luggage) could be any smoother of a port. thanks RCCL

MDSue Posted January 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I agree that San Juan is a great departure port. Last year when we departed from Ft. Lauderdale, we waited 20 minutes for a taxi to pick us up from the airport. In San Juan, it's a matter of seconds both to and from the ship. I can't wait to board the Jewel this spring. curlerguy Posted January 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Are cabs usually readily available post cruise to go to the airport?

We arrived at the port a little after 11am on the 11th and were on board in 15minutes from luggage drop off to walking on the ship. We left the ship on the 25th and were at the taxi stand in about 15 minutes from the final "ding". We used a porter, they get you through faster. In the past, we've always taken RCCL transfers where we've never had to deal with our luggage on embarkation day since it was transported to the ship by truck. I've used porters after getting off the ship, but never noticed (or looked for) any before boarding the ship. Thanks, Mary
