CrimsonQueen Posted January 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2014 I have an $80 bar credit on my upcoming cruise. While I know it must be spent on alcohol, do you know if I can use the credit to help toward the Cheers program??
Samm116 Posted January 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2014 I have the credit too, and would like to know this as well
joshd33 Posted January 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2014 My guess would be no, unfortunately... One option might be to NOT buy the Cheers program until day 2 and use your credits on day one?
gemsm Posted January 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2014 This is from Carnival Funville: Cruise Cash products are onboard credits so anything purchased onboard can potentially be offset by a Cruise Cash product. This is important to note you can purchase Bottomless Bubbles and wine packages pre-cruise, in which case, the Cruise Cash Bar credit will not help offset the cost. However, Bottomless Bubbles, wine packages or the CHEERS program are bar department items, so if you have purchased aboard, you can use your Cruise Cash bar credit toward those items. The answer is no if you choose to purchase the Cheers program prior to sailing; if you purchase it onboard you can use Cruise Cash Bar Credit. gemsm Posted January 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2014 You can't...I honestly think she meant bottomless bubbles because the person was asking about both

What does using bar credit toward the purchase of the Cheers program have to do with "keeping the ships fun and SAFE for all the kids on board"? Tim
Salt Wind Posted January 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Oh hi, Tim. Nothing personal. I just meant when guys and gals use the Cheers program and get slobbering drunk that can be dangerous to kids. I grew up in a house like that. :(
Rena921 Posted January 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Oh hi, Tim. Nothing personal. I just meant when guys and gals use the Cheers program and get slobbering drunk that can be dangerous to kids. I grew up in a house like that. :( Sorry, but 15 drinks in a 24 hour period would not make most people slobbering drunk. PlanoTim Posted January 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Oh hi, Tim. Nothing personal. I just meant when guys and gals use the Cheers program and get slobbering drunk that can be dangerous to kids. I grew up in a house like that. :( I see. That doesn't sound like a good place to grow up. I wasn't taking it personal, just didn't "get" the connection. I will say that IMHO, using the Cheers package does not mean someone will drink till they're falling-down drunk. In fact, depending on what is ordered, the Cheers package can make $ense even for those that drink far less than the 15-drink limit. And I suspect that someone wanting to get slobbering drunk will do it regardless of how they pay for the drinks. I do think everyone who drinks should do it responsibly... and no driving the ship after you've had a couple. Happy sailing to you, too. :) Tim
cruizinisthebest Posted January 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Sorry, but 15 drinks in a 24 hour period would not make most people slobbering drunk. It may not make "some" people drunk. I plan to use Cheers and not the least bit concerned about getting close to the limit. Cause I don't want to be drunk nor do I want to be running to the potty all day. The drinks are often weak but I'm sure I can reach a good buzz within the Cheers limit, which is fine for me. I can still enjoy my trip and not endanger anybody's kids. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

In all seriousness, I happen to be a very responsible adult....I would never drink and drive, I vote, was president of the PTA, have worked for the same agency for 28 years....etc., etc., etc. But I'm not responsible for those sweet cherubs onboard...their parents are. I raised mine....he's 32.

Greg&Tammy Posted January 19, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Yes you can, we typically book a year in advance then watch the pricing , as it changes we request credits and are boarding with a $500 credit , we will use it to pay towards the cheers program . Credit is credit on alcohol so cash it in at the time you but cheers

By the way, just because you buy cheers you are not a drunk, we but it because it is convenient and all of my kids can use it to get ANY fancy drink they make in a NON ALCOHOLIC version. Carnival is The Fun Ship! People have a blast, dance, party etc. Yes everywhere you go there will be someone making a jerk out if themselves but mostly not. Quoting a ridiculous pledge basically says you shouldn't be on a ship designed with a huge Casino and night clubs with bars everywhere ! Try Disney, your on the wrong ship...
