jkskrap Posted January 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2014 We will be on Crown for the Super Bowl this year, cheering Peyton and the Broncos. Anyone have any stories from years past? Will the game be on in the theatre also?

MMOMOM Posted January 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2014 We will be on Crown for the Super Bowl this year, cheering Peyton and the Broncos. Anyone have any stories from years past? Will the game be on in the theatre also? First off, Happy Sailing and enjoy the Super Bowl!! We have been living in GA the last 8 1/2 years, but originally from MA so of course we are Pats fans. However, that being said, if it couldn't be the Pats this year, I'm rooting for the Bronco's! So funny, in the last game, one of my daughter's has moved to CO and has a 6 yr old daughter and a 4 year old daughter. The 4 year old was wearing a Pats Brady shirt and the 6 year old a Bronco's Payton shirt!! She sent pics of the beginning of the game with the 2 with the 'fists up' type thing ... when the Bronco's won, she sent a pic of the 2 shaking hands and wishing the Broncos and Payton good luck! LOL!! Anyway, back to the point ... we were sailing on RCI the year the Pats were undefeated. I think we, like many thought, well of course they will win, LOL!! So we checked the game ... shown in one of the lounges and then went to dinner. We got back JUST AS THAT FATAL PLAY ended the game in the last few minutes and the Pats lost to NY!!! AAAAARRRUUUGGGHHH!!! Wish I had a picture of myself with my hands on my head yelling 'noooooooo!' LOL!! Good times tho, fun night ... some of the NY fans weren't so nice, but guess they'd also had a lot to drink too and it really was something to end that way. So, hope you have fun and GO BRONCOS!!! :)
Rare azbirdmom Posted January 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Two years ago we were on the Star off the coast of Chile where the seas were rough and it was quite cool outside. We intended to watch the game on MUTS and bundle up in the blankets, but wound up in the Princess theatre where they had all of the munchies in the back to grab, and giant screens down in the front. It was formal night and the dress went from evening gowns and tuxes to tshirts and jeans, so that was an interesting mix. Oh, and the casino had a square pool and I won $500 in the last minute when the score improbably changed. Needless to say I was quite happy. Last year we were on the Diamond in Hobart Tasmania and it was Monday morning. They did have the game on MUTS and also in Club Fusion. As most people were touring, they replayed it the next day when we were at sea. On our cruise on the Caribbean over New Year's, they had bowl and select NFL games on MUTS as well as on the TVs in the casino and in the guest rooms. Maybe this will continue for the Super Bowl too? wilfros Posted January 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Life Doesn't Get Any Better Than This. Sailing west one day from Hawaii, and it was Superbowl Sunday. As a Canadian I was looking forward to all the WOW commercials you Americans get to see, but they don't show them on the Satellite feed
Potstech Posted January 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Several years ago I was on board one of the Princess cruise ships for the SB. It was Pittsburgh losing to someone else that day. Went on deck several hours early and got a great location on lounge chair. Sitting next to us was a very elderly couple who seemed a little overwhelmed with all that was going on. Got to talking to them and found out he was 88 years old and this was their first cruise. He said that he and his wife had saved for years to take the cruise and being able to watch the SB on such a large TV was an added bonus. They were so afraid to leave their spots for fear of someone taking their seats. I told him to go ahead and get some food or bathroom runs. First time they left someone tried to take their seats. They got upset when I told them that my "parents" where using them and would be back. Got a dirty look but they left. The couple had a great time and said they wish they had done it sooner

chegodiva Posted January 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 26, 2014 I don't have a great story - but want to let you know - a few years ago while we were on a cruise watching - there were no commercials.
