Hi everyone just had a friend come back from Costa Rica and he said don't forget a rain coat.have a nice day

We didn't need ours on our recent cruise with port of call at Puntarenas CR -- but we had it along on the cruise. Previously on a land-trip to various parts of CR, we were soaked to the skin not once but twice, despite hip-length GoreTex jackets.

 

We now have knee-length truly waterproof coats from L.L.Bean!

Thanks Bill, that was quite interesting! It might have been a factor, but my feeling at the time was that the drops were so small (mist?) that they were confounding the pores of the GoreTex. Plus the wicking from the runoff on the upper legs.

 

I did pass on the jackets to family members who live in the desert and don't experience the rain-that-is-solid-mist but occasionally do get thundershowers, so we (they) can still use that information.
