Scotto97 Posted February 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2014 I have several formal dresses that would need to have their wrinkles taken out after unpacking. Our airline would charge $100 each way to accept a garment bag. Can ship's services steam out the wrinkles safely?
Cabunit Posted February 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2014 According to the Princess laundry receipt we have, they will "press only" an "evening dress." I don't know if this is the same as "steaming." We have never had this done, so we can't address the "safely" question. We have used the laundry for more basic laundry and haven't had any problems. Hopefully someone with more experience will speak up.
Carolyn R Posted February 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2014 Yes they can. I always have my silk pants either cleaned or pressed when on board. It is cheaper than here at home and they do a great job.

We've never had a problem with things sent out to be cleaned or pressed on Princess ships. :) LuLu ~~~~
Mimosa09 Posted February 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2014 I have had some success with hanging a dress in the bathroom while taking a shower. It gets steamy & a lot of wrinkles come out. Have done this also with DH's sport's jackets. - Rose Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Happy ks Posted February 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2014 I pack my clothes in dry cleaner bags and rarely have wrinkles or creases. You can send things for press only...or use the irons in the laundry room to touch it up yourself. There are also wrinkle release sprays, I've used them in the past and really don't care for the fragrance, but it is an option.

Carpe_Diem Posted February 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 2, 2014 If you pack the dresses in tissue paper, it helps keep the wrinkles away Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
