Here is an option: http://www.cruiseshipassist.com

Or: http://carevacations.com/special-needs/products/c/mobility-scooters-for-adults/

I have heard some will deliver to cabin.

Carnival does not rent out chairs. They will, under right circumstance do it. Like after a scooter fails that one brings inboard...don't ask me how I know. LOL

Carnival does rent wheel chairs BUT it is very expensive. On the Legend checked in case my son was in need of one, he made but I think it was like $100. a week. That is also first come first served.

If you can rent one from home & bring it with. They fly free.

You could also try http://www.specialneedsatsea.com although I think you have to rent for the whole cruise. They deliver to the ship at the embarkation port and you leave it on the ship at the end of the cruise. As a pp said it will be over $100 for a 7-day cruise. Depending upon the ports, maybe they can just deliver one for the day?

You might also try googling port authorities for your itinerary - maybe they have wheelchairs for rent?

My mom borrowed one from Carnival to use in ports. She paid a deposit only and got it back when she returned the wheelchair!

I think that it depends a lot on the ship & the MED CENTER as they are the ones that have to keep track of that.

How ever you go the GUEST SERVICES to see about one.

Yes I have heard of them lending one & that would be great just go with a back up plan.

Wheelchairs are not generally for port use. There's greater wear and tear on them, plus some people are not careful with them when the w/c isn't their own personal property. I think that's part of the reason rental companies charge so much (they have to do the upkeep). We needed a w/c once and it was for ship board use only.

We ended up buying a folding transport chair for our Mom when we went. It stores in a bag and has a shoulder strap to carry it. It cost us about $140 including shipping/tax. Much cheaper than renting a chair and we can use it over and over. Very portable.
