Smoking Area´s

Recommended Posts

Comeing back to RCI in October, so my question is, where are the smoking area´s nowadays. Is there any indoor lounge were smoking is allowed- is it still allowed in the Casino ( part of it anyway?) ! I now smokers are not very popular these days, but a few of us are still left. Thank you so much!

I'm just off Adventure of the Seas. There are smoking areas on the starboard sides of decks 4, 11, 12, and 14. All of the Solarium is nonsmoking. Part of the casino is smoking. There is a cigar bar beside the Imperial Lounge. The smoking areas appeared adequate in size ( sufficient chairs and ashtrays) on port days, but the one on the pool deck was very crowded on sea days. On our BtB there was also a problem with frequently overflowing ashtrays. They really need to empty them more often. Hope that helps.

ETA: We had one day of high winds when they closed the starboard outside decks for safety reasons- deck 11 was very crowded for that reason.

I was talking to my parents on the phone when they got on the Jewel in San Juan last saturday and my mom was coming back to the Solarium from picking up iced teas and she said she walked through the smoking area on the starboard side somewhat back towards the windjammer. She said the Solarium and front half of the pool deck was smoke free. She said there must be a lot of smokers on their sailing because the area was packed and the air was thick with smoke. I know she said the balconies are smoke free as well.

There are plenty of smoking areas. The decks depend on the ship. On the Adventure it was Decks 4, 11, and 12 I think.

The problem is either there are a lot of smokers or the non-smokers take over the chairs and lounges and it is very hard to find somewhere in the smoking area at the pool to site. Deck 4 was often very crowded often, also.

The smoking area of the pool deck was crowded everyday. Of course, more so when they closed Deck 4 but it was next to impossible to find a seat in the smoking area on sea days and hard in the afternoon of port days.

As I said in an earlier post, there are either a lot more smokers than RCI thought or a lot of the non-smokers don't mind the smoke and wanted to sit in that area.

Agreed. And there were definitely more than a few nonsmokers occupying chairs in the smoking areas. Including the older matron who plopped her not inconsiderable backside onto a chair on Deck 4, looked at the lady (already seated) beside her, and asked her to please not smoke so close to her. I had to bite my tongue while the lady invited the matron to visit the port side, instead.
