Ontariotrekker Posted February 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I went on HAL's Amazon Explorer and had to get the 5 year visa. I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to take advantage of it again before I need a new passport but I just looked at it as the cost of enjoying the trip so much. The cruise line will check and refuse embarkation if you do not have one. Shar

You would bring both passports to show at passport control, one for validity of the passport and one for validity of the visa. A bit cumbersome, but workable. Hope you get an opportunity to try it out to see more of marvelous Brazil.
