Review of Getaway 2/21/14 to 2/28/14

Here is my review of the Getaway.

We had a most awesome time on our Getaway cruise 2/21/14 through 2/28/14. All I can say is the Staff, crew and senior officers on this ship are the best in the business. HD Sean Wurmhoeringer, Assistant HD Errol Nelson, RM Deepak Gonslaves, Bar Manager Jose Papi Contreras and Assistant Bar Manager Oneil Pandit, Rashida Faustino HD Secretary executive Housekeeping Marite Mama Tek and asst Ronny Dsouza and FB Errol went above and beyond for us. For a ship only into its third cruise it was amazing. If there were any issues behind the scenes none were visible to the guests eyes. In my opinion the Getaway is a well run machine and I didn't encounter any hiccup whatsoever !! Service in all dining venues were superb and new menus were awesome. Plenty of action going on around the ship with plenty to do. Cruise Director Julie is awesome as well as her assistant CD Joel. We had the pleasure of having dinner with Staff Captain Robert Lundberg and First Officer Vincente Amicone who graciously extended a private tour of the bridge to us which was most amazing ! The Cruise Consultant Jorge Onboard we knew from the Star and it was awesome seeing his smiling face again. The entertainment onboard was top notch! A step above the rest and the parties Onboard at Spice H2O were so much fun! Our cabin steward Fidel was awesome. We were in Aft Balcony 12910 and balcony was huge. We enjoyed out time spent there as well. Fidel had our cabin spotless and we never had to ask him for anything at all. He sure knows his stuff.

Menus and food in all dining venues were wonderful . The Illusionarium show, wine lovers the musical, Burn The Floor and Legally Blonde are all must sees not to be missed. This ship has something for everyone and I will definitely be sailing again real soon.

 

We love NCL as we always feel at home with our extended family who we have grown to love and become close friends with. Here's to many more cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line.

All the waitress and Bartenders and servers are superb and DJ Vibe just awesome. Will book for June once I return home to NYC tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a great time for sure!

 

What were the main differences you noticed between Breakaway and Getaway?

 

Could you tell us a little more about the wine experience lunch and the Illusionarium? Glad they've come up with some new concepts.

 

Don't know when we'll get to FL to experience the ship but it's fun to hear about all of it!

 

Are they still tweaking the new menus or have the settled on them? Bob and I enjoyed trying many new items on Breakaway's DR lunch and dinner menus.

 

What's up next?

We were on the same sailing with you met you and Mom at the meet and greet and the last night in Cagneys. Have to agree with your review everything was wonderful the staff was the best especially Sean!!! :) Love that man!

We also were on the Breakaway two times, have to say we think the Getaway's food was a little better. No problem with lounge chairs, I hung at H2O most sea days, love the water falls.

All I can say is wish I was still on the ship....until July back on the Breakaway!! :D
