Cecethekittencat Posted March 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Help! We want to book Anthem ... However can anyone tell me if the seas are really rough in October between Southampton and Bruge -then to Paris? We live in the states and usually cruise the Caribbean which is generally calm - Thanks for your replies ... don't want to spend the cruise being sea sick and scared to death! Brit-Cruiser Posted March 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We have done a November transatlantic from Southampton. The Solent & the Channel were fine, not much movement at all.....when we got to the Bay of Biscay though, it was very rough. Hope this helps. :)
Rare John Bull Posted March 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Storms are much more prevalent in the English Channel in October/November than at other times of the year. That said, even at that time of year there are many more calm days than stormy ones. All three ports are pretty reliable in bad weather. And Anthem is a goliath amongst cruise ships, vastly different to the X-channel ferries that I frequently use. In rough seas, a good big-un is much better than a good little-un. :) Fingers-crossed ;) JB :) Edited March 14, 2014 by John Bull
