JuliaMS Posted March 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2014 I will be sailing on the Navigator of the Seas in a few weeks. Royal Caribbean's web site said GF items will be marked on the menu. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with how well those items can be trusted. Have you eaten those items and still had a reaction? This will be my first cruise since having to eliminate gluten and I am worried about how much it will take over my vacation. Thanks
KeyOfSea Posted March 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2014 I haven't had any trouble at all. In fact, I've had great service. I'm just sensitive, not celiac. Once you tell them that you're GF (in the dining room), they won't allow you to "cheat". I think that it's better if you have traditional seating but they can take care of you anywhere you choose to eat. We did the Chef's Table on our last cruise. I called them the morning of and let them know I was GF. Most of the food was GF but I had a couple of special items to replace what I couldn't eat. ehfl Posted March 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Make sure you select the gluten-free option in your online RCL profile. Also speak to your server, and they can provide you guidance and options.
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted March 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Please have a read of this excellent thread..... items will need to be pre-ordered... just labelled on menu as being able to be prepared GF not that they are.... warn specialty dining that you are coming the day before... confirm with servers that what they have brought you is from the GF kitchen area.
