Best bars and lounges on the Carribean

I am planning a get to know each other with my roll call people by hosting a Poker pub/lounge crawl before we set sail. I need five of the best bars/lounges to go to that are open before we set sail. Any suggestions? They can be on any deck as long as they are open before we set sail.

How's the sky walkers bar/lounge? Is that open before setting sail? I thought the view would be awesome and nice for some who will not otherwise go there since it is more of a late night club.

Seems underutilized, most of the time it is closed, opens for special groups and late at night (After 10pm)

Vines will not be open at sail away. Neither will the Wheelhouse. Crooners may or may not be staffed. And I doubt Sky Walkers will be either. All great bars just not at sail away.

I think your best bet is all the bars outside. Start at the front of the ship and work your way aft. If you check the deck plans on the website you can find them all.

And from where are you sailing? If it's out of Houston the selection of drinks is extremely limited. Not exactly the best time to do a pub crawl. If not out of Houston then it sounds like fun!

It is out of Houston but not until April26th. The poker pub crawl is more about getting to know one another from the roll call and the lay out of the ship. We draw a card at each of the five location for a total of five cards. Then we make a poker hand out of them with a 60 40 split. We All put in $10 or $20 at start of the game.

It is a lot of fun. I appreciate all the information I received. I always try to get a bar/lounge on different decks just to check each deck out. Besides the different decks, I also try to have the locations going from the aft to the bow on each deck that way you get to really check out certain decks.

Great idea! And sounds fun.

Again, just be prepared that the bars have limited supply until they get out of Texan waters. No champagne, well liquor, no signature fun fruity drinks.

I didn't know this! What would be the reason?

It's a Texan law. Princess must serve booze that it purchased in Texas. Since Princess doesn't want to be locked into that arrangement, they purchase only a house gin, house vodka, hose tequila, etc. also limited selection if wine and beer. I didn't know that either when I sailed. Couldn't get a decent martini until after dinner.

To the OP, not many bars are open around the ship at sail away. Most don't open until night time. What time does the ship leave? And on second thought Crooners may be open. So you do have that one and lobby bar for places inside on different decks. And then you can visit 3 outside bars which might be on different decks.

It usually takes 3 hours or so to get from the pier to the Gulf and open water. Casino canot be opened until that time. Texas law requires all liquor used by bars/restaurants be purchased from a licensed distributor. It is called the three tier model (distillery/brewery/winery, distributor, retailer). Princess has to buy the liquor they will be selling while in port from a local Texas distributor. It is an antiquated law.

BTW we still have dry counties/precincts in north TX!

I did not know that being a Texas Law either. Since I sometimes do not do well with the house brand liqours. I guest I need to stick to a good glass of wine.

I really hate to keep doing this...

The wine also has to be bought in Texas so I wouldn't expect a glass of "good" wine. Not saying you can't get a good wine in Texas, Princess just chooses not to! :)
