DEIx15x8 Posted August 31, 2014 #233 Share Posted August 31, 2014 You can make dinner reservations at the Cape Liberty cruise terminal?! ;) That would be awesome! Why didn't they build a restaurant on the second floor of the terminal with full "270" of glass so that you can enjoy a nice dinner while watching the ships sail away. Would be great for ship fans, families, and people that know someone sailing that day.

Life is Good Cruising Posted August 31, 2014 #236 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Thanks that is a good idea. Most of the shows listed in the Cruise Planner are only 45 mins. long and Mamma Mia is 2 1/2 hours. These shows are listed on various days/nights and times, so it gives everyone a chance to see all shows. There's a few other shows at night which are not bookable on the Cruise Planner. Mass2Cruise Posted September 4, 2014 #237 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Camera is now facing the proposed parking garage area. Not sure if this is on accident or purpose. Could be they did it on purpose to show viewers the garage assembly or to get the view away from something proprietary with the terminal... Or it could be on accident and maybe a seagull flew into it and moved it?!
rjruby Posted September 4, 2014 #238 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Once the terminal is enclosed, you won't be able to see the internal work progress. The parking deck is just at the beginning of its construction.

Case1096 Posted September 4, 2014 #240 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Do you think they are leaving the building side open for ventilation while it is still warm outside? Once it gets cooler they would probably close it up if that happens before the HVAC system is in place. Looks like they are still hauling away garbage from the garage site. But the sewage pipes are all there ready to be installed.

Or it could be on accident and maybe a seagull flew into it and moved it?! The camera view is now showing the construction of the sidewalk and storm drain installation next to the building. There is currently nothing going on for the garage. They need to get the road completed so they can use the new terminal. Also, since the flow of traffic for the terminal will be from the end closes to the camera to the far end of the terminal a road for incoming traffic will need to be built. This new road will probably go around were the garage is to be built and turn to go along the new terminal. The road to the monument will be realigned to the new road. fred30 Posted September 9, 2014 #243 Share Posted September 9, 2014 They are starting drainage work for the parking garage area. http://oxblue.com/open/FitzpatrickNJ/CapeLiberty Eric So far all of the supplies and piles over there have been for the terminal. They are cleaning up a bit who knows if they will start the garage yet. They could make good use of that big crane the shipyard has sitting in the far left of the webcam. Pomperaugrr Posted September 9, 2014 #244 Share Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) They were moving piles of gravel and burying concrete pipes and a distribution box in the middle of that garage area earlier today. They are definitely starting preparation work for the parking project. Eric Edited September 9, 2014 by Pomperaugrr

Lloyd555 Posted September 14, 2014 #248 Share Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) what is the chance that this will be operational by the time quantum or december this year arrives? Found this statement in an article... The renovations are on schedule and on budget, according to Trescastro. “We’re roughly about 65 percent done,” he said. “We’re right on schedule for our delivery date, Nov. 8.” That date is important, because passengers will be using the check-in center only two days later, Nov. 10, when the Quantum of the Seas ocean liner arrives at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port from Southampton, England. I would guess 96% chance it will be done by December. Edited September 14, 2014 by Yorkvillain
