curtdesilets Posted March 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2014 We will be on the Century Pacific Coastal in 2 weeks. There are a lot of Tendering Ports: Monterey, Santa Barbara and Catalina. Our Mother has mobility issues and we will need to bring a portable wheelchair. She can walk a couple hundred feet, but then needs to sit very quickly. How does it work with tendering? Is there a special line? Do they frown on mobility-impaired passengers tendering? I think she really wants to see the Monterey Aquarium and some other sites. Any ideas or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
WestLakeGirl Posted March 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Since she can walk some, it shouldn't be too difficult. The staff are very experienced in helping people on and off the tenders. There won't be a special line but she should be fine

There won't be a special line but she should be fine We will probably be rolling her in the chair in the line, and then she can get up and board the tender boat maybe with a seat adjacent to the tender boat entrance. I hope it works okay. I'll talk to someone on board when we tender. I think it might be best to do this after the morning rush!
Rare ghstudio Posted March 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Celebrity does a wonderful job of working with handicapped folks. Procedures vary, but they go out of their way to assure that handicapped folks are safe and adapt to their needs in tendering (and most every other area). You do have to discuss any excursions with the excursion folks...your mom is not unique...they deal with wheelchairs/walkers every day.
