dave9898 Posted March 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Does the free drinks package cover any of the cocktails in the Molecular and Martini Bar. What would happen if I ordered a drink that exceeded the 8 dollars, would the difference be charged to my account, or would I pay the full amount? You will be billed the full price for cocktails exceeding the $8 limit. maybe you want to consider upgrading. They will apparently make you a small version of a small selection of the Martini bar drinks - but this seems to be inconsistently offered. gsb Posted March 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2014 None in the Molecular Bar, but you can order any "regular drink" at the Martini Bar--Jack and coke, vodka tonic, etc.:)
jveevers Posted March 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Agree, upgrade, then you can get 95% of whats on offer including everything at Molecular Bar. I think the only exceptions are the expensive wines.
awhfy Posted March 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Also, if you upgrade & the drink is over the maximum you pay the difference in cost. With classic package you pay the entire cost of the drink Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
sarawithanh Posted March 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2014 I'm glad somebody asked the question I was getting ready to ask! Does anybody know if the "perk" offerings, allow us to pay extra to upgrade to premium? I would happily do this!

We did this on our last cruise and it made for a very simple worry free sailing. The only above cost was $3 for the 'flight'! dave9898 Posted March 21, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted March 21, 2014 thanks for all the advice, and I think I will upgrade to the premium package just for me so that I can take full advantage of the cocktails in the Molecular and Martini Bars. Unfortunately my husband is a beer or cider man. Would he be able to purchase either of these, or will I be drinking alone?

Will defo be getting the flight on our next cruise and all after that also... Why have one martini when you can have 6!! I think you can get a beer at the martini bar but not at the molecular bar... You could get one from another bar on the way then drink it there! wallysdtr Posted March 22, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2014 We were given the classic drink package and upgraded to the premium package while on the Connie last month. I am so glad we did. While dining in Blu the sommelier picked wines that were within the premium package. Lots of the martinis also had no extra charge. The Evian water bottles were a bonus during the day and while out at the ports. We have booked on the Reflection for next March and will definitely upgrade our classic package to premium. It was well worth the extra amount we paid.

The martini bar offers a "flight" of martinis. It is 6 preselected mini martinis. Most bartenders will also put in a show if pouring them all at once. You can find some great YouTube videos of the bartenders pouring more than 6 full size ones. Sometimes if they are not busy the bartender will also let you choose which 6 you want to try. blambition Posted March 23, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 23, 2014 If I drink a very dirty martini, do I have to upgrade my drink package? My DH drinks Absolute on the rocks and we both would drink bottled water and coke, which I am guessing comes in the classic package. Trying to decide which is a better deal to take on a 7 day cruise as we are not really big drinkers, but if it is included, then what the heck, and even the water part is a plus. On a 7 day the cabin credit would be $200.00 I usually drink Grey Goose, but I guess I could go with the Absolute if that was my choice! Other than that, is my other choice to pay an additional $77.00? Am I understanding all of this correctly? Thanks for the advice. I haven't sailed this line in so long so any other advice on the Summit would be appreciated!

Very dirty is extra olive juice which there is no up charge for that. We had the classic package and ordered Ketle One or Three Olive dirty Martini's. You may want to try those brands they make a good Martini. We got lucky one night in the casino. They ran out of Ketle One and substituted it with Grey Goose. Unfortunately that the only luck we had.
