iamlin Posted March 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Hi Everyone- We are trying to figure out the easiest way to get to Cassis, France from the Toulon port on the Regal. I have checked the excursions, and it appears none of them go to Cassis. Does anyone know of a way to get to Cassis? Thank you, Iamlin

mbeginner Posted March 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Hi Everyone-We are trying to figure out the easiest way to get to Cassis, France from the Toulon port on the Regal. I have checked the excursions, and it appears none of them go to Cassis. Does anyone know of a way to get to Cassis? Thank you, Iamlin A train ride from Toulon to Cassis only takes 35 minutes and costs between € 8 and € 15 per person (one way). There runs a train every hour. From the station in Cassis, you can explore the city on foot. It's good to check the train timetable in advance. The only problem is that the train station in Cassis is 3.5 km and 40 minute walk(enjoy a long but pleasant walk along a tree-line pathway that runs along orchards and vineyards) to Cassis town center. https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Av.+de+la+Gare&daddr=Quai+des+Baux&hl=hr&ll=43.223316,5.548096&spn=0.032273,0.074329&sll=43.2147,5.537453&sspn=0.008069,0.018582&geocode=FUuykwIdq7pUAA%3BFSxnkwId9H5UAA&dirflg=w&mra=dme&mrsp=1&sz=16&t=m&z=14&layer=t Take a cab or bus to the harbor http://www.ot-cassis.com/en/urban-bus-marcouline.html Get to the train station from the cruise port in Toulon, depending on where you dock (Toulon or La Seyne-sur-Mer) From Toulon Toulon train station it's located in the north of the city on Place Albert 1er https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=43.128536,5.929245&hl=hr&ll=43.128489,5.930986&spn=0.032072,0.074329&sll=43.128504,5.930965&sspn=0.008018,0.018582&doflg=ptk&mra=mift&mrsp=0&sz=16&t=m&z=14at about 20 minutes walk from the cruise port. You can also take bus N° 7. This brings you in a few minutes from the port to the train station for € 1.40 per person (one way). If you dock at La Seyne-sur-Mer (mostly the case for larger cruise ships) You can go there by taxi for about € 20 per taxi (4 persons one way) or you can take bus N° 8. This brings you from La Seyne N° 8 bus stop (within walking distance from your cruise ship) to Toulon for € 1.40 per person (one way). Get off at Vauban N° 8 bus stop in Toulon. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the train station. http://www.reseaumistral.com/plan/index.asp?rub_code=5&thm_id=1601&gpl_id=1603 The second option from La Seyne-sur-Mer is La Seyne-Six Fours train station, ( https://maps.google.hr/maps?saddr=43.117259,5.877296&hl=hr&ll=43.116366,5.877643&spn=0.00802,0.018582&sll=43.116335,5.877643&sspn=0.008082,0.018582&mra=mift&mrsp=0&sz=16&t=m&z=16 ) located halfway on the way to Toulon. There are some interesting connections to the west (Marseille, Aix-En-Provence, Bandol, ...). For eastbound connections you always have to switch trains in Toulon. You can reach La Seyne-Six Fours train station by taxi (€ 10, 4 persons, one way) from La Seyne cruise port. You can also take bus N° 8 or N° 82 making a stop near the cruise port. The trip takes about 15 minutes and costs € 1.40 per person (one way). I hope that will help Edited March 22, 2014 by mbeginner

smile8685 Posted June 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2014 I am wondering if anyone took the train to Cassis from Toulon? Heard it was not easy walking to the town and wondered if there were taxi's available? We would love to go on the boats, looks beautiful.
Jacob111 Posted May 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2015 Take a bus http://www.ot-cassis.com/en/urban-bus-marcouline.html The distance is only 45km and expected travel time is around 39 mins.
