bethohio3 Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I'm looking for a private tour operator for the D-Day beaches from Le Havre. Overlord doesn't have availability and there aren't open slots on any of the roll call tours. I'm interested in knowing alternative private tour operators to check with. As a backup, I signed up for the Princess tour, but it's not our first choice There are 2 of us, but we're traveling with friends, so I'm sure between them and our roll call we could fill a van of 8-16, which is my preferred your size. Any ideas? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Turtles06 Posted March 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I'm sorry Overlord is booked, they were great. I would suggest you post your inquiry over on the France board, since Normandy is in France. Also, do a search on that board, as there have been threads in which folks have asked the same question and gotten the names of some other private guides. Good luck, and enjoy your cruise! Norm174 Posted March 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2014 We used Dale Booth 2 years ago! Fantastic tour! Check out his reviews on Trip Advisor. Ann
konatyme Posted March 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I'm watching for answers to your question with interest, because we are in somewhat the same situation (and also have booked with Princess "just in case"). We're on the July 22 cruise.
bethohio3 Posted April 1, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted April 1, 2014 I can pass on some ideas. I don't have any personal experience with any of them other than email--and the communications have been without fail polite and helpful. albion-voyages.com (who we are booked with) http://www.cpmac.com/ http://www.normandypanorama.com http://www.ddaylandingtours.com http://www.WellArrangedTravel.com http://www.normandyddaytours.net http://www.aparistravel.com I hope you are able to work something out. I'm very impressed with the emails I've received from Adrienne at Albion-Voyages and am looking forward to our tour. As I said, though, these are contacts but not recommendations. Any ideas? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums When I was a travel agent in UK we always used Battlefield Tours. They will put together bespoke tours too, to fit your party. http://www.battlefieldtours.co.uk/ I know they are UK based but they may be able to offer something for you to meet them at a certain point in France. Try also Normandy Battlefield Tours. I think they pick up in Le Havre http://www.normandy-battlefields.com Edited April 1, 2014 by lovetochill To alter text

Any ideas? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums Which sailing are you on? I have four seats left on my June 15 Normandy tour (June 4 sailing of the Ruby Princess). It is with Jules Vernon, the premier tour guide from Overlord who has branched out and now owns his own company. If you are on this sailing, I look forward to hearing from you. flora dot m dot herbert at gmail dot com

Janice621 Posted April 12, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 12, 2014 We used Dominique Eudier, dominique.eudier@wanadoo.fr last June as we were 9 people and most tours could only accommodate 8. She used a mini bus for us and gave us a great tour from Le Havre of the Normandy beaches. We informed her what we wanted to see in advance and she did quite well. BTW, Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network used her as well.
