AlohaPride Posted April 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I just read this blog post from HAL about their new menu options for people with dietary restrictions! I'm so excited and hope they have some of the new options on our Aug/Sept. cruise! http://www.hollandamericablog.com/2014/04/03/vegetarian-vegan-gluten-free-cruise-cuisine-makes-a-splash/

Rare POA1 Posted April 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Now all you need is your gluten free beer and you're all set. (Disclaimer - I didn’t read the article at the link. If it mentions gluten free beer, it's my mistake and I own it.) ;)
OHSnowLeopard Posted April 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2014 The vegetarian-friendliness of HAL is absolutely one of the main reasons my husband and I chose it for our (belated) honeymoon cruise. Much better than settling for salad and vegetables all the time (which, although I love them, can get boring without an actual entree!). I plan on thoroughly reviewing the vegetarian food when we return, and I will keep my eye out to try some gluten-free options as well. I love gluten, myself, but as a long-time vegetarian I can certainly respect other special diets!

He just avoids gluten for my sake. He said all bets are off in August. LOL Sent from my Samsung Galaxy
