Choozin Croozin Posted April 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Have booked a 6 night cruise on the Indy already which goes to Labadee, but as I was looking today, for just shy of $100 more we can do a 7 night on the Freedom which goes to Coco Cay. We just were at Labadee about 3 wks ago and will be there again in Jan '15 so thought Coco Cay might be a nice change as we have never been there and we love to snorkel. The other ports don't really matter. I have read of frequent misses of this port due to rough seas and tendering. I realize November 1 is still hurricane season. Any experience with those folks sailing in November? More likely to miss or not? And is water temperature colder at that time of year?
cb at sea Posted April 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2014 The seas are no rougher in "hurricane season" than any other time.....UNLESS there's a storm close by! The "season" makes no difference! It's not just waves...wind can cause a skip of this port, too....tendering is a hit or miss thing. Water temps will be similar to what you're used to at home....
