luv2gonow Posted April 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Hi I"m researching a walk to river excursion in Puerto Rico. El Yungue and is it possible this same tour is more than 400 dollars more on celebrity?? http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=SJ08&DestinationCode=CARIB http://www.celebritycruises.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?ActivityLevel=&ActivityTypeId=9&CurrencyCode=DKK&DestinationCode=CARIB&DurationCode=&LocationCode=SJU&ProductCode=SJ08&ShipCode=&SortBy= Scroll down to see prices:eek: Thanks Kerri
CarpeCerevisi Posted April 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2014 While I have found that similar tours on Celebrity have been more expensive than on Royal Caribbean, this seems a bit extreme. One must surely hope that this is simply a typo on Celebrity's part. Either that, or the tour operator must wonder why nobody ever books the tour from a Celebrity ship.

I think it is just a mistake. I have never seen any tour, even in Europe, that cost that much. It's over $500 pp. Someone goofed.
Paulxyz2004 Posted April 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2014 The Price on the RCI link is in EUR and the Price on the X link is in DKK. Without checking the actual Exchange rate it´s usually roughly 1:7, so it pans out to about the same amount give or take a couple.
Paulxyz2004 Posted April 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2014 OK, I´ve checked the Exchange rates and the Celebrity one is 0.11 USD more expensive:eek: for adults and 0.10 USD for Kids. I don´t think that´s extreme or excessive;)

AntiCatCH Posted April 7, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2014 I did a very similar tour in march 2014. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=SJ86&DestinationCode=CARIB (I am not sure what the difference is.) The tour included two 1h 15minues drives from the harbor to the rainforest and back. The walk to the waterfall was less then a mile and took 1h. Our guide made many stops to explain the different plants and animals. We had about 20minutes at the waterfall. We used the same route to get back from the waterfall to the bus. As we never stoped this time the walk took only 15 minutes. Are you interested in the Waterfall or the Rainforest? If you want to visit the rainforest http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=SJA8&DestinationCode=CARIB is perhaps a better choice as you are making a round trip of 1 1/2 miles. I'm thinking the difference is walking different trails in the rainforest. With the 2nd one being a longer hike? More strenuous? Thanks Kerri You are right. I should have read the explanation more carefully. SJ86 is definitely "Big Tree Trail - Package #1" http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/elyunque/maps-pubs/?cid=stelprdb5190546 Not sure what the others are.
