CactusGirly Posted April 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Our kids will be 9, 10 and 12 when we sail on the Allure next year. They are very close, and the one who will be 12 is concerned about having to be split up from the other two in the kids clubs since the cutoff age is 11. Does anyone know if they will let him stay with his sisters in the younger group?
gerif Posted April 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Possibly. All you can do is ask nicely. They are more likely to let a child age down than age up. By all means be sure to attend the first night orientation as that's where kids meet others and buddy up. Who knows, he might find friends in the older group and opt to stay there. sharktums Posted April 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2014 We were on a cruise and they let a newly turned 12 year old down into the 11 age group. It also seems to matter how many children are on the cruise. If it's super busy, they're not as likely to bend the rules.
Loggra Posted April 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Us, Our children and grandchildren just got off Enchantment of the Seas and one of them was allowed to go down 1 group on age. They said they could go down but not up!
ARCruisinNana Posted April 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2014 They do make exceptions. On Mariner, after observation, they allowed my 5 year old granddaughter to go to the 6-8 year old group with her 6 year old sister. They had both cruised several times already and knew the routine;)
Mom.to.2 Posted April 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2014 As everyone above has indicated, it's up to the discretion of the Adventure Ocean Supervisor. No way to know how it will go ahead of time. If it's a high child volume cruise (i.e. school vacation week) the chances are less likely.
