tbmrt Posted April 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2014 Mask Interactive Theme Party, Sizzle Interactive Theme Party, and 70's Night Fever Dance Party. I picked up the above info on another thread, but no other information other than the names of the above mentioned parties was available. Would appreciate input...Should we bring masks? What is a Sizzle Interactive Theme Party? Do people dress in 70's attire for Dance Party? Thanks!
roysue Posted April 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2014 Just off the Equinox and did see one of them. The singers and dancers were dressed in elaborate period pieces with masks. They descended the stairs in the atrium and music was playing. For the one I saw, it wasn't very "interactive" but I think that people just didn't understand. Based on what I observed, the characters did interact with the observers. I think if you had a mask and were prepared to interact, it would be a ball! Enjoy your cruise! The Three Cruisers Posted April 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2014 We were on the March 14th Equinox sailing and went to all the evening theme parties. They were usually held at 10 or 10:30pm. They included Masque Venetian/Rocky Horror Show, St. Patrick's Day, Dancing with the Stripes, and the 60's, 70's, and 80's dance parties. The Sizzle party was held poolside during one of the later afternoons. No costumes or masks needed to be worn in order to have a good time. Be on the dance floor to see/be part of the action. The Masque Party featured "Happy" guests- kids, parents, older adults coming down the main staircase in flash mob style, led by the enthusiastic zumba instructor, Andreas. Cruise Director Paul Baya and featured performer Lindsay Hamilton were singing and dancing with the staff singers and dancers. Lots of guests, including our son, got a chance to dance in the glass elevators with the performers. Dancing also on the dance floor. This party was much better than when we saw it in 2012. The St. Patrick's Day Party also featured Paul Baya and Lindsay Hamilton mixing in with the staff, dancing with the party-goers. Lots of fun. We enjoyed learning the Travolta-style line-dance ,taught by Andreas at the 70's Night Fever Party. Activities Director Esperanza and Celebrity dancers, in costume, raised the fun level. The best part of the parties was that they provided opportunity for guests of all ages to put their dancing shoes on and enjoy. Kudos to CD Paul Baya and activities staff. Enjoy your time on Equinox. We did. Marie :):):)

The Three Cruisers Posted April 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2014 The DJ Gio and the House Band Front Page split the duties of supplying music for the Theme Parties. Those parties featured upbeat party music, great for dancing. A jazz group-Elaine Abras Quartet supplied music for other venues. There was a great classical String Harmony Trio and Stereo Girls singers and a folk singer/guitarist Sean Golden. The Equinox orchestra was great. We like to dance to a party band on the cruise nights when there is no major activity scheduled. Although we tried the different bands, we did not find a true party band on ship on those "off" nights. Maybe we didn't stay up late enough? We never made it past midnight. Marie Hi, Marie - Great information. Thanks. The house band and party band are the same. Do you remember if Front Page was a Filipino group? Rare ORV Posted April 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I'm wondering with the cuts in activities staff if these will be affected?
