navybankerteacher Posted April 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2014 Aside from disaster movies: the several Titanics and Poseiden Adventures, you might consider a couple of oldies: Out To Sea - a good comedy with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau on a HAL ship --- or Ship of Fools. - a serious 1939-era story about refugees from Hitler's Germany. newgrange Posted April 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Not entirely on a cruise, but one oldie would be "Now, Voyager" with Bette Davis. Edited April 12, 2014 by newgrange
Velvetwater Posted April 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Poirot: Death on the Nile (If you like that type of thing theres a feature length episode and a classic film) is AMAZING. Speed 2 Carry on Cruising (Yes it exists...even as a Brit I dont like Carry on films) Chipwrecked (ok not good but has shots of Carnival) Theres also a really good episode of Frasier when they are on a cruise. BillB48 Posted April 13, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2014 You may wish to have a look at "The Last Voyage" with Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone. Much of the movie was shot on the Ile de France just before the ship went to the breakers. Surefire to put everyone in a cruise mood;)!

beachbum53 Posted April 13, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) Two others to add to the list: "Chupacabra Terror" Storyline Cryptozoologist Doctor Peña ('Giancarlo Esposito') traps the legendary Chupacabra on a remote Caribbean Island to make his name in the scientific community. When he smuggles it aboard the cruise ship Regent Queen, commanded by Captain Randolph, (John Rhys-Davies), the monster breaks out of the cargo hold and makes a smorgasbord out of the passengers and crew. Navy SEALs are called in to evacuate the ship and battle the monster, but it ultimately comes down to Captain Randolph, his daughter Jenny (Chelan Simmons), and Federal Marshall Lance Thompson ('Dylan Neal') to save the day. Written by Steve Jankowski & John Shepphird It's a low budget monster movie. Most of it is laughable, but it's a good one to kill a rainy afternoon. "Deep Rising" Storyline When a band of ruthless hijackers invade the world's most luxurious cruise ship, they're shocked to discover the passengers have mysteriously vanished! But that doesn't mean they are alone! Something terrifying is lurking just out of sight: a deadly force from the unexplored depths of the ocean that begins to snatch the horrified intruders one by one! Written by Greg Kleiner <LtJGBrewer@aol.com> A better than average thriller. It's at least worth watching twice.:) Edited April 13, 2014 by beachbum53
