RenaeInCA Posted April 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2014 So, I have read quite a bit about the weather in Tahiti. Originally we were going to go in early January for our anniversary, but we just found out we are expecting our first grandbaby in late December :D. That time of year wasn't supposed to be ideal, weather-wise, anyway. So, we are looking at Spring, since we still want it to be close to our anniversary. What are the pros and cons of Tahiti in March, April, May?
Tikiintahiti Posted April 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2014 May then April and finally March ......... in that order for better weather. Remember we are talking about a rainy place period though most of the time it's sunny with a few quick rain showers that come and go. During December - March it is normally more humid and a few degrees warmer.
RenaeInCA Posted April 24, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Tiki, I really would like to do the 11 Day Cook Islands & Society Islands cruise, so the dates would be either May 30 or April 11. The April 11 cruise has Jean-Michel Cousteau, so I'm imagining it will be popular. I have asked our TA to find out cabin avail for April. I would hate to go so late in May and be there through mid-June (we were going to stay a few days after). My only other option would to be go earlier, like November or early December of this year. Tikiintahiti Posted April 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) May is lovely ............. remember, opposite seasons as North America I've done the 11 night Cook Islands run ............. was really nice. Aitutaki is wonderful, I've been there 4 times Edited April 25, 2014 by Tikiintahiti
twin123185 Posted April 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Couldn't get into Aitutaki. I think Cook Islands will be in my future... January has been ok other than twice skirting cyclones. September is my new favorite month! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Emdee Posted April 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I too like August and September. Though November hasnt been too bad nor has July, October, January, December or February. What the heck..... any month in Paradise is a good month. But seriously, August, September and October have been great months for me! I heard that May can be windy but havent been there in that month.
FlightMedic555 Posted April 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Our last cruise was the 10 night and Cousteau was on board. He is a gentelman and his talks were spectacular. We have also done the 11 night Cook Island cruise. I would try for the cruise with Cousteau on board.

While Cousteau seemed a nice enough guy and yes his talks were excellent, his entourage were total jerks! Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 29, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I've been there in April and May, and May is nicer, in my experience. End of May is likely to be perfect.
