elainmir Posted May 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2014 After painstakingly going through the things I'd love to see and do on Curacao ..I know I'd like to see Fort Amsterdam and Fort Nassau..does anyone know if they are close to downtown and the bridges? I'm trying to see all I can close after I see Shete Boka...Not sure if the forts close early either...
Isa65 Posted May 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Fort Amsterdam is within walking distance of the pier. You will see it immediately when you dock. This fort is currently used by the local government for office space and the official residence of the Governor is in this fort. So, it is not a place you can have easy access to. You can go in and take pictures in the parking lot area and maybe enter the Fort Church. But not other places in the buildings. Fort Nassau you can reach by taxi. It is a nice look out point and a charming spot to have lunch/dinner or a drink.

cruiseapril Posted May 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Fort Nassau is very nice. We have been several times- the last time our taxi driver waited for us- so we had an Amstel (local) beer and enjoyed the view-it is panoramic.
