Recommended Posts

We just booked the Liberty of the Seas Royal Suite and I am looking for any reviews that might have pictures. I found a great video on YouTube but I was looking for reviews and still photos.

Anyone have any recent experiences they could relay? The room looks AWESOME from the video!!

very exciting, i heard on day 5 you get to sit on the capts lap while he feeds you grapes.

Not sure about that ;), but the OP will get priority check in and will be escorted by the Concierge to the RS.

Don't be ridiculous. Grapes are for mere GS guests. RS guests get LIMES

lol , the CD will come to your room every night and sing you to sleep while the activity Cord massages your feet.

I thought the OP was talking about the Royal Suite (category RS on Deck 10 -- cabin #1640), but I will add that we did stay in the Royal Family Suite (category FS) on Liberty last month. We were in 9408. There are four suites in this category - 8714, 8414, 9408 and 9708. These suites have 2 bedrooms and a living room and a huuuuuuge aft balcony. One bedroom is just like a regular interior room with a queen bed and 2 pullman bunks that come out of the ceiling. The other bedroom is bigger with a queen bed and a nice bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Then the sofa bed can be a bed, so it sleeps a total of 8 people. You have to have at least 5 people on the reservation to book it, unless you book it at the last minute (we had 4 of us in the suite - my parents and my husband and myself.)

It was fabulous. My favorite part was room service breakfast on the balcony and taking naps on the lounge chairs on the balcony. So beautiful with the sun shining and the sound of the water swooshing in the background.

With the Royal Family Suite, everyone gets concierge privileges, but they do not escort you on the ship when you board. The concierge did escort us downstairs when we disembarked, but I think the boarding escort is only for the Royal Suite.

To the OP - enjoy! It will be a wonderful experience and I hope you enjoy every minute!

The OP is referring to the RS, not the RFS.

Concierge Lounge and Concierge services are provided to all suite guest in GS and higher.

The Concierge escort to the suite on LOS applies to RS and I believe PFS only.

so a royal suite is different than a royal family suite?

Yes - although sometimes they are both called the same thing on the deck plans. But the actual categories are different - RS or FS. On the Liberty at least - because that is my only personal experience with the suite life! - there is one royal suite and four royal family suites. The royal suite has the piano and the whirlpool on the balcony (from what I read -- never seen it with my own eyes!) It's forward on deck 10. The royal family suites are aft on decks 8 and 9. They are 2 bedrooms and a living room, connected by a hallway with a big ol' aft balcony.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes!!! I am talking about the Royal Suite 1640. The Royal Family Suite sound awesome!!

I can't wait for those limes!!! ;)

Last night I booked my first (and probably last according to my husband) GS on Oasis so I totally get your excitement. I've got a bit of that going on myself. Looking at tons of pictures, videos and giggling a lot over the "suite perks."

Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy your "suite life"!

Which ships deck plans? I've never seen that. I've only seen them separately identified as RS - Royal Suite and RFS - Royal Family Suite, and are as you indicated completely different suites. The RS, although more than double the size of the RFS, has one bedroom and holds up to 4, whereas the RFS has two bedrooms and holds up to 8.

I'm also not familiar with any category on RCI called FS - Familiy Suite? There are several categories of family "staterooms" - such as Family Ocean View stateroom, Family Interior stateroom, Promenade Family Stateroom - but the only suite categories I am aware using "family" in the description of is the RFS and the PFS - Presidential Family Suite.

I'm not trying to criticize but just not clear on what ships would indicate this or what the "FS" category is you are referring to.

I don't know if I should admit this, but as we were debarking Liberty on May 1 the Royal Suite 1640 was open for cleaning and pretty much everyone coming down the hall popped in to look around. :p We did get some pictures - if I can figure out how to post them, I will do so tonight. The bedroom area has windows that come all the way to the outer edge of where the balcony usually is (so no balcony off the bedroom, but a great view out the windows), and there is a small round hot tub on the balcony off the living room area.

We stayed in 1620 (an OS) and didn't get an escort on, but got all the usual suite perks. The concierge was great and the priority embarkation/debarkation was really helpful b/c customs was a mess - we still waited a while (about an hour for embarkation, 1.5 hrs for debarkation through customs) but nowhere near as long as others.

Congrats on the Royal Suite! I'm sure you will love it! :D

On the deck plans on this site - Cruise Critic. I agree it is confusing.

If you click the drop down menu for categories, they are listed as Royal Family Suite (RS) and Royal Family Suite (FS). Even though the abbreviation on the boards is RFS for the Royal Family Suite, it is category FS on the deck plans.

Also - to correct myself … it's not forward on deck 10. I was thinking of Enchantment when I wrote that. It's midship on Liberty.

OK that explains it and I see where you got that. But while the deck plans may be from the RCI website, the stateroom descriptions are not and CC - or whomever is responsible for preparing those descriptions - is incorrect and misleading with that. I was referring to the RCI website which originated that information and nowhere on RCI is "FS", for instance, used as a category description.

The problem with that is people put a lot of credibility in CC and this is just one (and there are others) example of incorrect or misleading information regarding RCI in particular that - at least in this case - can cause confusion.

Sorry, don't want to argue with you, but that is the code that is used on the Royal Caribbean site: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cabinclass/cabinTypes/cabinType/cabin/home.do?br=R&cabincls=D&cabinType=FS&shipCode=LB

In the little green box under "Stateroom Category" it says "FS" for that suite.

Sorry OP! Don't mean to get off track -- the point of this thread is to share your excitement, and I feel like it's evolved into nitpicking. :( I'm not trying to confuse anyone - just clarify based on our experience.

Not nitpicking and standing corrected! Never saw that before - just referencing the deck plan descriptions. That is confusing and apparently originating from RCI. Learn something new everyday. Appreciate the information!

And agree - OP enjoy the RS!

Having been next to them and above them, peeking and leaning over the railing to see inside, they look awesome. Full dining size table and padded lounge chairs on the decks. Bathrooms are large. I think walk-in closets We had an opportunity to view a GS on a cabin crawl and it was to die for.

Stay excited; it will be AWESOME.

And for those who say, I never stay in the room anyway, if you had this cabin, you would never leave, except maybe to go on shore.
