There always has been one. I last cruised on FOS in Aug of 2012 and there was one at the time. They usually policed it and kept kids/teens out as well.

The Solarium is for 16 and over.

Yes, and it is located in the Solarium. They do allow anyone over the age of 16 (I believe) to use the pool and hot tubs in this area.

As others have mentioned, the Solarium is for 16 and older.

 

As with almost every other "rule", this may or may not be enforced. I've witnessed young children behaving well and they were not asked to leave. I've witnessed tweens laying on side by side chairs, having a "kick fight" and they also were not asked to leave. This is just my personal experience. I could have comlpained, if it bothered me enough, and they may have been asked to leave. Just an FYI that you may encounter those younger than 16.

I've seen them on some ships (can't remember which) on the outside edge of the Solarium, but not on all ships.

On every RC cruise we go on.

I tell my kids to run in and do a cannonball in the solarium pool.

Then run out....

Just off Freedom... no hammocks in the Solarium but I didn't see any kids in there either. There were a few older teens but they were with parents. It's really quiet in there and nice, great pool.

It was a very nice quiet pool on our cruise in April...no kids at that pool and there were a lot of kids on our sailing!!
