Favorite things to do in Skagway?

What are your favorite things to do in Skagway?

Train, rent a car, hikes?

We rented a car and drove up into the Yukon. A stop at Emerald Lake won't disappoint! We stopped for an ice cream in Caribou Crossing and they have a station outside to stamp your passports. There are hiking trails around Skagway and even a walking tour (check out http://skagway.com/walking-tour-and-trail-maps/) for a couple of options.

Dolly's tour is alway fun....She is quite the character and works hard for her clients.....The White Pass RR is wonderful....as is Carcross and Emerald Lake...If you go to Carcross, go see Michelle Phillips' sled dog cart ride there.....She is a world class musher...Lots of pups to love on also....

Another vote for car rental (Avis or Sourdough) and drive to Emerald Lake. Or take the White Pass Railroad to Frasier, bus to Carcross in Yukon and return. Mountain scenery in the Yukon is wonderful and Emerald Lake is truly "emerald!"
