Molsykins Posted May 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2014 Hi! Just wondered if anyone had any experience of docking at civitavecchia, and how long does it take to disembark and walk to train station? We are planning on getting the 0844 train. Thanks in advance :)

This is not correct at the moment as they have changed the drop off point. It is now in a car park about half a mile further away from the station. There was talk of a local bus but it never appeared. Hundreds milling about off 4 ships. Some with all their luggage. This was 3 weeks ago. Host Hattie Posted May 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2014 There was a local bus dropping people off in the car park last week but we didn't use it.
molecrochip Posted May 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2014 There is a free orange bus which runs between the temporary drop off and the station. It takes 5 mins max and runs 2-3 times an hour. If it's turnaround day for a ship then they run slightly more frequently but the queue is huge. Last week the queues were long. You want yo allow at least 45 mins from ship to station. You may be lucky and do it quicker! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

supergran Posted May 21, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2014 Any idea why this has been done? Is there work going on at the main dock entrance? Yes. When we were there in April it was still the usual entrance but with lots of workmen and parts of roads coned off. Not sure what the final plan is.
