christa212 Posted May 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2014 We have booked cabins 8448 and 8442 on the Liberty, we can open our balconies but curious what the room is in between, any ideas?? Thanks!
sirfuller Posted May 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Perhaps that is a stairwell? Sent from my Samsung Victory using Forums mobile app
CoconutJD Posted May 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2014 I'm pretty sure that's a crew stairwell. I don't think it should be an issue.

Thanks! Don't know if it's the same on Liberty ... but on Fascination it was a storage area. LuLu
Starbright7966 Posted May 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Not sure but we stayed next to a storage area before and it was so loud. The one next to us is where they stored the art for the art sale. They would bang it around super early. christa212 Posted May 27, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted May 27, 2014 I'm hoping regardless of what it is the size of the balcony will make it well worth it, but thanks for your thoughts :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forums mobile app
Fitzget Posted May 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) Looks like a stairwell. Crew area for sure though. Edited May 27, 2014 by Fitzget
lady_cruiser Posted May 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Looks like the same type of storage area we had on the Conquest; Premium Vista Balcony 7440. Ours was a storage area for the cleaning crew. It held bedding and towels and the noise level we had was at a minimum.
marcimm Posted May 28, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2014 We've stayed in cabins 8455 and 8449, the opposite side of the ship from your cabins, on the Liberty. On the starboard side, it was the crew stairwell. Some of the crew smoke in there so you might get a whiff sometimes. Also, they can see down into your balcony from the stairwell. We just waved to them. :)
hockeyluver Posted May 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2014 It is the crew stairwell and it will be used to get to the muster station, we have stayed next to them on a couple cruises but on the upper deck. Never heard any noise.

sjn911 Posted May 28, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 28, 2014 I think you will be fine..have often heard the crew one was on starboard and not port..for the hanging around sometimes in reading here...I think either way it will be minimal...Sarah Bon voyage.. fantastic balcony...enjoy!! SkyMaster Posted May 28, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 28, 2014 I agree with most of the others above. It's a crew stairwell, and I doubt that it'll be a problem. See you aboard! "SKY" Ken
AriannaFan Posted May 29, 2014 #15 Share Posted May 29, 2014 I loved 8442 on liberty. We had no problems with noise when stairwell was accessed. Sent from my iPad using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app
