It's a Ship!!! Posted June 4, 2014 #28 Share Posted June 4, 2014 I looove the smoked salmon. It is expensive to get at home so I don't get it too often, but on a cruise I have it almost every morning for breakfast, and they have these little smoked salmon hor d'oeuvres at tea time that are really good. The Tandoor on any of the ships that have it is also amazing. They really have some great Indian food there. On my last cruise I ate there 3 times and would have gone more but the timing didn't work out.....aaand now I'm craving Indian food
IPlayWithString Posted June 5, 2014 #29 Share Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) A fresh, juicy as heck Guy's Burger with all the toppings. I'm also partial to Bitters N Blanc...OMFG. :;drool:: Another thing that I really like is the vegetarian sweet potato pot pie. So yummy. :) I can't wait to get back on board because I think it's gonna be one of those things I do every time on the first night on the ship. Writerfl Posted June 5, 2014 #30 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Breakfast: Bagel and Lox with cream cheese, onion, tomato and capers Lunch: Guy's burger and fries Appetizer: Sake Stewed Beetroot Carpaccio (when they put a dab of horseradish on it. Some ships do, some don't). Dinner: Penne Mariscos when the pasta is cooked right, also Lobster (same caveat) Dessert: Creme Brulee, Grand Marnier Souffle. Want. Naoooooooow. dadroy Posted June 5, 2014 #31 Share Posted June 5, 2014 When I was young and inexperienced, I liked the lobster. Then I found out: 1. It is frozen. 2. It is subpar to what is real lobster. 3. It is generally overcooked. 4. Real whole lobster is fresh and succulent. The stuff they serve on the ship is like the difference between fresh asparagus and CANNED asparagus. Same stuff, but radically different taste and texture. Now, I love the Onion soup when they still have it.

ShellLoves2cruise Posted June 5, 2014 #33 Share Posted June 5, 2014 I love Guy's burgers and the fresh cut French fries (going to miss it on my cruise tomorrow on the Paradise), Grilled Rueben, Crème Brulee, Steak and Eggs.....there's a lot more ~ listing what I don't like would be a shorter list! ;)

winddawn Posted June 5, 2014 #36 Share Posted June 5, 2014 On a carnival ship...other than the warm chocolate melting cake... Among my favorite Carnival foods are the De Chevre pizza which has roasted garlic, mushroom sauvage, and goat cheese, and Carnival's cream of mushroom soup. jcearth Posted June 5, 2014 #39 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Meat pies from the lunch buffet (I think that they are on French day) - absolutely delicious and the only thing I will eat from a lunch or dinner buffet. Breakfast: Omelet, croissants, and BACON!!! Lunch: Anything on ciabatta bread from the deli, or a double burger fresh from the grill (haven't tried Guy's burgers yet - first thing I am getting on our next cruise) Dinner: Nothing stands out, so I'll say Pumpkin soup
MissCruiseAddict Posted June 5, 2014 #40 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Favorite Lido Deck food: crab cakes, mushroom alfredo, chocolate mint cake, guys burger and fries (I get a plain jane and doctor mine with bacon crumbles, onions, mayo and ketchup), and on my last cruise I finally tried the Tandori and loved the butter chicken. YUM. Favorite Dining Room food: heuavos rancheros, jerk pork loin, stuffed mushrooms, the talipia, ceasar salad
Vigorosity Posted June 5, 2014 #41 Share Posted June 5, 2014 The lasagna bolognese! It was so absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake from room service was wonderful. And shrimp cocktail. And cheese pizza. Or almost everything.
Lefty Writer Posted June 5, 2014 #42 Share Posted June 5, 2014 The mac and cheese with bacon and grilled chicken! I'll second that, and add the fried risotto balls from the Cucina del Capitano. I could make a whole meal out of just those!

ronandannette Posted June 5, 2014 #45 Share Posted June 5, 2014 The best thing we had on our last Carniva cruise was the mashed potatoes they served under the lobster & shrimp dish. We ordered two just for the potatoes.

lady_cruiser Posted June 5, 2014 #50 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Am I the only one who dislikes the Warm Melting Cake. It reminds me of cake batter that hasn't baked all the way through. Now, if you want to talk about their sinfully delicious Mac and Cheese you have my attention :).
