mistory Posted August 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I will be cruising to the Bahamas in December. My question is what type of clothes should I bring. Will it be hot enough there to swim in the ocean or will the temps be lower there that time of year?
gapgrl9901 Posted September 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2005 I have the same exact question. Freeport is one of the stops on my cruise in December and I was wondering what the weather is going to be like?? Is it pretty warm during that time, or a bit cool? KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted September 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2005 You're more likely than not to have daytime temps in the 80's during December in the Bahamas. Freeport/Grand Bahama is even with West Palm Beach, while Nassau is further south than Miami. So that will give you an idea. The weather should be nice as well, with no afternoon thunderstorms typical of summer. Yes, you can swim in the ocean. However, at that time of the year it's cold front season. If a cold front pushes its way south, it brings a day of showers with it and cooler weather (70's) behind it. The stronger (colder) the front, the farther south it will push. Doubtful that a front would make it that far south (especially Nassau) that early in the season. So I'd recommend that you bring a light jacket just in case and at least for evening use if needed.
