rmorgan2282 Posted June 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Let's guess! What will the 3rd Oasis Class ship be called? Paradise of the Seas? Any ideas?
Daghis Posted June 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Back in late 2012, Royal Caribbean applied for several trademarks which did include Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas. The other names trademarked were: Ovation of the Seas Passion of the Seas Pulse of the Seas Vantage of the Seas It's probable that Oasis 3 would be one of those. rmorgan2282 Posted June 11, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Oh! So cool! Had no idea about those names! I also heard that it isn't just Oasis 3, but there will be an Oasis 4 too! Very neat! Excited to see Allure!

nolesrule Posted June 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Didn't we have a thread like this a couple months back? I'll repeat my suggestion... Monstrosity of the Seas Because a good friend of mine who is D+ calls the ships of the Oasis class collectively "Monstrosities of the Seas"
rmorgan2282 Posted June 11, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Maybe there was, sorry. Just had to throw it out there because my FH asked... I'm sorry, but I totally laughed out loud at Moneymaker and Monstrosity of the Seas! Y'all aren't kidding! That's really what it is!

leaveitallbehind Posted June 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) I'd like to see Epic of The Seas. Not too likely since NCL already has a ship named Epic. Edited June 11, 2014 by leaveitallbehind
deliver42 Posted June 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 11, 2014 You can say what you want, but I've been on the Oasis, and I have two names for it. Unbelievable and fantastic.A third would be wonderful.

I like the middle two names....but.... would you really want to sail on a ship with the acronym.. P.O.S. (that is a pretty rude acronym for a billion dollar ship) Now, if it was a Carnival ship, it may be a logical suggestion.;)

SB9 Posted June 11, 2014 #18 Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) I don't recall what the policy is on this but I'd like to see them reuse a name of a retired ship. Nostalgia of the Seas.... Oh wait it would have to be half the size. I loved my Allure cruise and am looking forward to Oasis soon. Great ships regardless of what some people say. deliver42 Posted June 11, 2014 #19 Share Posted June 11, 2014 There is no more nickel and diming than any other ship. Just more choices. If you don't want to spend extra, don't. Nobody is twisting your arm. All the entertainment is still free, and so much of it. If the cruise companies[all of them] took away the nickel and dimes as you call them, then the price of the cruise would be unaffordable for a lot of people. That's how they make up for artificially low cruise prices.
nolesrule Posted June 11, 2014 #20 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Ha, their loss. He's been on at least one of them. And I'm pretty sure he will again. Though he's on Vision at the moment.

Keasel Posted June 12, 2014 #23 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Back in late 2012, Royal Caribbean applied for several trademarks which did include Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas. The other names trademarked were: Ovation of the Seas Passion of the Seas Pulse of the Seas Vantage of the Seas It's probable that Oasis 3 would be one of those. The trademark applications to Pulse, Passion, and Ovation of the Seas went abandoned on January 13, 2014, and the trademark application for Vantage of the Seas went abandoned on September 9, 2013. A new trademark application can be filed. Freedom of the Seas first application went abandoned in 2002, but was refiled 2+ years later. However, many of the abandoned application names are never used (e.g., Endeavor, Journey, and Traveller of the Seas). It seems that Pulse, Passion, Ovation, or Vantage are not going to be the name if the name is selected soon (otherwise they wouldn't have abandoned the applications). However, if the name is selected later they could reapply for any of the abandoned names or come up with new names.
Keasel Posted June 12, 2014 #24 Share Posted June 12, 2014 I'd like to see Epic of The Seas. The major lines do seem to repeat names a lot so it's possible. Just between Carnival, Disney and Royal Caribbean, there are two ships named Dream Magic Fantasy Legend Freedom Liberty Splendour/Splendor
