azevedan Posted June 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2014 I know many of you like puffins and want to see them. While we have seen both types in the wild in Icy Strait and Resolution Bay, Seward has a wonderful Sea Life Center that includes many diving birds, including puffins. They have a special program (only a few slots available daily) to feed them. Here's some footage of just that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsC7uAYjsU4&list=UUGDJ-gRCy5gy3dre-MEZmBA&feature=share

latebloomer56 Posted June 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Oh, man! I am so jealous! At least they came to me - they wouldn't even eat out of my DH's hand. I'm jealous also. We aren't going all the way up this year but will add this for next time. We have not seen one of my favorite birds yet. Though we went to Iceland and the coast of Maine (breeding ground) plus Alaska of course and not once have I seen them :(. We seem to be just off by a week each time. Oh well good reason to travel north again.
SparkleBee Posted June 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2014 that looks awesome but I assume they charge an arm and a leg...? costs for this trip keep increasing as I find more and more "must do" things!
