Rare texasstar Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Just returned from a Danube river cruise aboard the AmaSonata. Just want to let those that have trips planned on AmaSonata, that they are in for a treat! It is a beautiful boat, the excursions and and entertainment on board were delightful, and the food was beautifully presented!

blondiec Posted July 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2014 To LaxCruiser We were on the AMAsonata cruise Prague to Budaoest. It was wonderful in all ways As far as the concert in Vienna we were disappointed in th place where it was held Not the concert You go to a building and all the tour groups go to concert. We thought we would actually go to a theater where you would buy tickets and you would sit regular theater seats Not so. the chamber concert was lovely. Mozart and Strauss Blondiec
LAXCRUISER Posted July 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks for concert info. That's what I had heard about these concerts. Just in regular auditorium. AMA said was held in imperial palace. Alas. Maybe we stroll around Vienna and forego concert ?

Rare texasstar Posted July 21, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted July 21, 2014 We did not go to the Vienna Concert, but those that did enjoyed it. We did go to a concert in Prague at a venue that was close to the Old Town Hilton. We enjoyed it and it was 1/2 the price of the Vienna concert. It was only about 1 hour long. nonrev1 Posted July 23, 2014 #15 Share Posted July 23, 2014 We will be on the Prague - Budapest cruise in mid October on the AMASonata, can't wait. I do have a question for the OP. We just came off our first AMA river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We found there was a lot of daytime cruising and there were no activities planned during the day while we were cruising. The scenery was beautiful during one of the days......but, the other days there was nothing to look at besides flat land with trees and shrubs. We were very surprised with all of the daytime cruising that there were no activities in the lounge. On the Prague to Budapest cruise, are you mostly docked during the day or are you cruising? Thanks!

Do you recall the name of the venue where you attended the concert in Prague? Did you go on your own or was it arranged by the cruise line. We will be on the Sonata later in the year and are doing Prague on our own but staying at the Hilton Old Town. Thanks.
